What's Worse?
Have you ever received a speeding ticket or known someone who has? How did the conversation about the ticket go? Did you, or the person who got the ticket, complain about the situation? Was there maybe resentment felt towards the police officer who issued the ticket? Was the conclusion that the ticket was unjustifiable for one reason or another reached by the majority?
Now, how about if you got caught stealing. First, would you even address the incident with your family and friends? If you did talk about it with them, do you think they would be as sympathetic as they were when you told them about your ticket?
If 100 deaths are caused by a combination of accidents due to speeding and theft, 96 would be a result of speeding and
only 4 would have been caused by theft.
Why is it that when you or someone you know receives a speeding ticket there is animosity caused by the situation
but when you're caught stealing there is shame?
You don't steal something every time you go in a store. So why would you speed every time you get in your vehicle?
